For more than 250 years the "Goldberg Variations" have represented not only one of the high points of western musical culture but is universally regarded as one of the most strenuous tests of keyboard musicians' skill. Accordion virtuoso Denis Patkovic opens unusual and different perspectives of this masterwork with an instrument not usually associated with the music of Bach. In these surprising new interpretations, Bach's music comes alive with unexpected colors and phrasings not possibly on the percussive piano or plucked harpsichord.
