One night in June 2001 at the Båstad Chamber Music Festival the Zilliacus PerssonRaitinen trio performed Johan Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations, transcribed for string trio by the Russian American violinist Dmitri Sitkovetsky. The audience was swept off its feet and many wanted a recording - and this record is the result!
Cecilia Zilliacus works internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. She won the Soloist prize in 1997, has received two Swedish Grammy Awards, the most recent one in 2003 for the Caprice CD featuring Béla Bartók's Violin Sonata No. 1 and von Dohnányi's Violin Sonata Op. 21.
Johanna Persson is the principal violist for the Gothenburg Opera orchestra and also performs as a soloist. She is a member of Gageego.
Kati Raitinen is solo cellist in the Royal Opera Orchestra in Stockholm and in Gävle Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Avanti! Ensemble. She is very active as a chamber musician.
The three as a trio have been performing regularly since 1999 at various chamber music festivals and are well known to the Swedish concert audience.
