Gabriel Faure - Piano Trios - Trio Wanderer
Vincent Coq, Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian and Raphaël Pidoux finished their course of study at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 1989. They went on to further training in the USA with György Sebök, Dorothy Delay and János Starker, and then to two more years of work on the major pieces in their repertoire with Menahem Pressler (of the Beaux Arts Trio) and members of the Amadeus Quartet. Founded in 1987, the Trio Wanderer won two major international competitions between 1988 and 1990, the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and the ARD Competition in Munich. Since then, it has made regular appearances in the most prestigious venues (Berlin Philharmonie, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Wigmore Hall in London, Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, La Scala Milan, Library of Congress in Washington, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Zurich Tonhalle etc.) and at many international festivals (including Schleswig-Holstein, La Roque-d'Anthéron, Settimane Musicali di Stresa, Osaka, and Salzburg).
