This is the world premier recording of the almost two hour Sonata for Solo Violin by Swedish excentric composer Claude Loyola Allgén - this is music that, like the composer´s String Quartet #2, had an enormous impact on the listeners when it was performed, now by young violinist Joar Skorpen in 2000. This is a recording from that very live concert - on two CDs and with an extra bonus: Parts of the general rehearsal with all the 25 music stands, the broken string and Skorpen´s struggle captured on a DVD.
Most of the musical oevre of Claude Loyola Allgén was unperformed for a very long time, considered "crazy" or "unplayable". When this talented artist plays the complicated score it turns out to be filled with great beauty, fantasm, composer´s skill and sentiment. This is, like the recording of the String Quartet #2, a historical - and artistical - really great deed, indeed!
