Rare violin sonatas of the Forgotten Italian Baroque master Veracini Francesco Maria Veracini (1690 1768) was an Italian violinist and composer who became famous through numerous concert tours and engagements throughout Europe. In life, especially his violin concertos were successful, its clearly bolder violin sonatas found posthumously attention. This CD summarizes virtuosic and remarkably original chamber music of Francesco Maria Veracini from unpublished manuscripts today, the stocks of libraries in Dresden, Vienna, Florence and London. The Italian Baroque violinist Valerio Losito has (together with Federico Del Sordo harpsichordist) compiled for the album five sonatas and some preludes and canons, which are present here, for the most part as a world premiere recordings. Losito plays a 1741 built by Pier Lorenzo Vangelisti violin in Florence, Del Sordo accompanied him on a modern copy of a harpsichord by Christian Zell. The photographs were taken in October 2013 in the Chiesa di San Domenico in Italian Rieti; The booklet contains introductory notes to the music, further information on the manuscript sources and artist biographies.
